Opening the macOS app the first time

The macOS build is in the process of being notarized by Apple. Until that finishes, macOS Gatekeeper may show “"Kommu" Not Opened — Apple could not verify…”. The app is safe — this only means Apple hasn't finished verifying it yet. Open it once with either method below and macOS remembers your choice:

In Finder, open Applications, Control-click (or right-click) Kommu, choose Open, then Open again in the dialog.
Or open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to "Kommu" was blocked, and click Open Anyway.
Or run this in Terminal:xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Kommu.app

Once notarization is enabled, this step disappears entirely — the app will open with a normal double-click. On Windows, if SmartScreen warns, choose More info → Run anyway.
